Desert Rose Collection – England 1990 – Franciscan Ceramics Archive

When the Franciscan Ceramics plant (the Glendale plant) in Los Angeles closed in 1984, all production was moved to England. This brochure from 1990 include items never made in the US and restyled pieces.

All of these items were made in England. The following were never made in the United States or were restyled:

1 – Tall Pedestal Vase
2 – Clock – restyled variation
4 – Cookie Jar – in this variation, the cookie jar was resized smaller than the US made cookie jar
5 – Utensil Jar
6 – Cake plate with Server – the cake plate is a different version than the small chop plate made in the US. The server was never made in the US
22 – Square Salad Plate
39 – Heart Tray- restyled from the US version
42 – Covered Preserve/Condiment Jar – restyled from the US version
44 – Soup Tureen – restyled from the US version
45 – Chop Plate/Tureen Stand – restyled from the large chop plate made in the US. This plate is a rim shape
47 – Centerpiece Bowl
48 – Spoon Rest
49 – 5 x 7″ Picture Frame
50 – 8 x 10″ Picture Frame

The #49 and #50 picture frames also came in two other sizes – 2.5 x 3.5″ and 3.5 x 5.5″ which were not shown in this brochure.
